Vernon, Canada - Kyle Martin surprised many today with an outstanding qualifying performance to earn the #1 seed for tomorrow's Vernon DH7. The race is round number one of the new IGSA NorAm Downhill Series.
Patrick Switzer held the lead after the first round with a time of 55.638. Martin's first round time had been a 56.693 that had put him in second position. Kyle uncorked an astounding 55.604 to move ahead of Switzer on his second run. Switzer tried to answer on his second run but could only manage a 56.742.
18 year old Luke Melo earned the number three qualifying position with a time of 56.270. He was followed by Australian Jackson Shapiera in fourth with a 56.289. Canadian Riley Haris rounded out the top five with a 57.256.Vernon DH7
