Picton, ON, Canada- The IGSA NorAm Downhill Series will be returning to Picton, Ontario, Canada September 15-16, 2012 for the third annual Prince Edward County Gravity Festival. Downhill skateboard and street luge competitors from all over North America will be racing through the streets of Picton on the 1.2 km (.7mi) course at speeds of 80-90km/h (50-55mph).
2011 IGSA World Cup Series Champion Patrick Switzer from nearby Toronto, will be looking to repeat as the PEC Gravity Festival Champion. He will face tough competition from some of the best downhill skateboarders in the world. Prince Edward Counties own international luge racing stars Kolby Parks and William Condon will head up the list of street luge entries.
The Prince Edward County Gravity Festival will be round number six of the eight race 2012 IGSA NorAm Downhill Series. Additional NorAm events will take place in Venon, Canada - Windham, New York - Goldendale, Washington - Monterrey, Mexico, - Calgary, Canada – Akron, Ohio - San Dimas, California. Each rider’s five best finishes will count toward their final NorAm Downhill Series ranking. Classes offered will include Open Downhill Skateboarding, Women’s Downhill Skateboarding, Junior I Downhill Skateboarding (8-13 years), Junior II downhill Skateboarding (14-17 years), Street Luge and Classic Luge.
