Guaíba, Brazil - This year has drawn racers from around the world to compete in the first round of the IGSA South American Series.  After the Padova Grand Prix in Teolo, Italy and the legendary NorAm round at Bonely Park in California – USA, the IGSA World Cup Series returns to South America Brazil for its last 3 rounds.

In the Open Downhill Skateboard class the defending champion,  Ricardo Reis, leads the qualifying for the 1st round of IGSA South American Series.  Silon Garcia qualifed in 2nd and William Rubim whom won last year IGSA World Cup Junior II in Argentina seats in 3rd position. Defending IGSA World Champion, Douglas Dalua is 4th and Kyle Wester from Colorado, USA whom won the IGSA World Cup in Teutonia last year is close behind forecasting intense battles for tomorrow´s race.

In the Womens,  Franciele Cardoso set the best time with Raíza Peruzzo in 2nd and Melissa Brogni in 3rd. Defending IGSA South American Champion Reine Oliveira rounded up the top 4 positions.

 In the Junior I, Eric Soares set the pole position with Lucas Rocha in 2nd. Déryck Szymczak follows in 3rd place, Gabriel Drachemberg is fourth and João Pereira close the top 5 of the day.

In the Junior II,  the positions were decided by very small differences. Tiago Mohr was the fastest at the end of the day with Robison Leão in 2nd, Luiz Peruch in 3rd, Yan Bertinati in 4th and  Lucas Silva in 5th.

Brazilian Walter Ribeiro was the fastest in Classic Luge with American Frank Willians in 2nd and also Brazilian Leo Borton in 3rd.

Leo Borton took the pole position in Street Luge followed by Walter Baresi in 2nd and Tiago Antunes in 3rd.

Silon Garcia who seats in 2nd in Open Downhill class leads the Masters with Juliano Cassemiro in 2nd showing that you can ride fast at any age. Legendary Brazilian rider Fábio Lampião seats in 3rd place and is promising to challenge the leaders at tomorrow´s race.

Tomorrow the track is going to be ready and melting for the opening of the IGSA South American season.
