Petaluma, California – May 12, 2011 – The IGSA is pleased to announce the 2011 IGSA Euro Downhill Series. At season’s end, Champions will be crowned in Open Downhill Skateboarding, Women’s Downhill Skateboarding, Jr I & Jr II Downhill Skateboarding, Street Luge and Classic Luge.
The Euro Downhill Series will be comprised of three World Cup races plus the European Championship. All events in the Euro Series will award the same number of points to the winner. Each riders’ best four finishes will count toward their points total. Champions will be crowned in each division at the final event of the season.
IGSA President Marcus Rietema said, “Downhill skateboarding is exploding around the world. With the launch of the Euro Downhill Series, we can accommodate more events that want to be part of an IGSA Championship.
