New York Race Added To 2012 NorAm Series
Windham poster IGSA sm

Petaluma, CA, USA - The IGSA is pleased to announce the addition of the I Love Downhill Grand Prix to the 2012 IGSA NorAm Downhill Series.  The event will take place June 23-24, 2012 in Windham, New York.  With the events' close proximity to New York City, the race is sure to be a huge hit with both competitors and spectators alike.  It also has been strategically placed on the weekend before the Maryhill Festival of Speed to allow competitors who fly in from overseas to attend an additional IGSA race during their visit.

 windham course

The race is set to take place in the heart of the Catskill Mountians in beautiful Windham, NY, on Clarence D Lane Road.   2 1/2 hours north of NYC.    This is sure to be one of the most fun and popular downhill skateboarding race courses in America. The racecourse will be over one mile with five of the most intense and fun technical turns, and fast speeds to challenge the top skateboard racers in the world,  all while achieving its goal of building awareness of the sport, its athletes and the longboard skateboard and street luge community!

Event registration for Pro/Expert,
Sport (amateur), Women's, Junior I (8-13 years old) and Junior II (14-17 years old) skateboarding categories along with Street Luge and Classic Luge categories is now open. There will be up to 170 spots available and entry fees will be required by April 30th in order to secure spots.

This will be the first time that the IGSA will be offering a separate Pro/Expert Downhill Skateboard class and a Sport (amateur) Downhill Skateboard class to guage rider response and explore the viability.  If successful, it will be considered for implementation at all IGSA events in 2013. Guidelines will be forthcoming.
