Cape Town, South Africa- The first IGSA sanctioned event of the 2010 season will get underway next Saturday, March 27-28 near Durbanville, South Africa.  The Fair Cape Downhill Challenge is returning to the schedule after a one year hiatus.  The event has been granted IGSA National level status.

The road is located about 10 minutes away from Durbanville and was first discovered in April 2006.  It was once gravel but the entire 1.9 km (1.2 mi) course had been completely paved in butter smooth tarmac.  Fair Cape's top speeds of 105 km/h (65 mph) in Downhill Skateboarding and 117 km/h (73 mph) make it one of the fastest race courses anywhere.  Full protective gear and a full face helmet are required.  All competitors must pass a mandatory technical inspection before being allowed to compete.

For those who are new to the sport and want to experience riding on a closed course, but don't fel ready to race, SAGRA is offering a non-racing option for only R100 per day.  A helmet and protective gear are required.  Spectator admission is free!
