Goldendale, Washington, USA- Switzerland's Martin Siegrist broke his year old track record on the way to recording the fastest qualifying time during Friday's first day of time trials for the Maryhill Festival of Speed / IGSA World Championships.

He recorded a time of 3:08.422 shattering his previous track record by 1.622 seconds! Patrick Switzer from Hanover, Ontario, Canada was second with a 3:10.201. Mike Zietsman from Cape Town, South Africa posted a time of 3:10.422 to place third. Defending Maryhill Champion and current IGSA points leader Scoot Smith from Pendor Harbor, Canada was fourth with a 3:10.467 and James Kelly from Sonoma, California, USA rounded out the top five with a 3:10.746.

It was an extremely hard fought qualifying session that had 152 Downhill Skateboarders make qualifying attempts. Tommorrow each skater will get a second chance to lower their time with their single best run of the two counting. Only the top 96 skaters will make it into Sunday's final eliminations. For additional coverage and massive event photo galleries go to www.silverfishlongboarding.com
