Round #8 Gets Underway In Colombia
Bogata, Colombia - Round #8 of the 2012 IGSA World Cup Series started Saturday in Bogota, Colombia under a wet track conditions, after a night of strong rain fall. After the break for lunch a smoothly rain fallen over the new pavement of the Parque Nacional Olaya Herrera and at the end of the day all riders were blessed with nine practice runs.
Round #8 of the 2012 IGSA World Cup Series starts today in Bogota, Colombia. The Festival de la Bajada joins the IGSA World Cup Series after the big success of the 2011 South American Tour stop. Parque Nacional Olaya Herrera, in the center of Bogata, is the location of the race. It's Colombia's oldest national park dating back to 1937 featuring an urban rain forest and roads that wind around to different monuments and places of interest. The 1.4 km (.09mi) course is both fast and technical providing the competitors with a serious challenge.
Calgary, Canada - James Kelly came from behind in an action packed final heat to become the 2012 IGSA World Champion. After a long, hard day of racing, the final six riders lined up for the final heat. Kevin Reimer, Kyle Wester, Matthew Kroetsch, George MacKenzie, James Kelly and Alex Tongue. Off the start Reimer took the lead followed by Wester, Mackenzie and Kelly and Tongue.
